I am thinking about without being wrong on having affirmed that there exists the widespread conviction of which the tunas are groups of university young people that take the diversion as a flag, the music for north and the brimming mischievousness throughout. In spite of being all this true, I have for me that is not all the truth that the tunas shut up.

In his origins, the tunas were formed by the least wealthy boys, who were strolling for the streets and inns singing and spending the saucer.

This way they were obtaining some money to finance his studies and to eat warm. We are, therefore, opposite to a medieval tradition that, without scarcely changes, has come until our days with his intact vitality. Few phenomena of cultural and festive character have covered so much stretch and, also, without substantial changes. It is difficult to find major caress in the maintenance of a tradition.

It is necessary to congratulate because the tunas, which soon will fulfill in our country eight centuries of existence, are still alive and without offering any depletion symptom. Music Festivals as that for years it is celebrated in the Barrio del Carmen, of model trajectory, they help to keep undoubtedly this secular flame burning.

I must show my satisfaction for the Godmother's appointment of the present edition of the Music Festival. First of all, because to I allow to be a participant of a cultural event loaded with history and ties with a remote past. And in the second term, although not less important, because to I allow to pay a debt of gratitude to the Barrio del Carmen, of which I have been nearby for some years and in which I have spent many happy moments.
