When four years are fulfilled from the beginning in the Barrio del Carmen of the International Music Festival, our city already has a special tie with your layers, with his tapes, with the tambourines and accordions that, during the Holidays of this July, fill the streets and squares of the Barrio with songs that inspire happiness and youth.

As Vice-mayor and like murciano closely linked to the Carmelite feeling, I feel the full satisfaction of the one who enjoys a Music Festival that, year after year, consolidates moreover and the quality and the level increases with every edition. That is possible thanks to the work of the organizers, who not only have found the way to incorporate an interest event into these Holidays, but, also, they have been able to involve the whole City in his development.

Because the International Music Festival is intimately established in "El Carmen", one of our most authentic quarters, in whose environment has raised a sanctum to this student happiness. Murcia, city of a wide university tradition, and the murcianos, accustomed to enjoying our numerous holidays, celebrate every year the arrival of the tunas and tunos that come to sing to us and make us enjoy his dances and his happiness.

This year I have the honor of being the Grand Master, a distinction that fulfills me with satisfaction and pride and that my fondness and love strengthens moreover for the Quarter. Also, I want to make the most of the opportunity to invite all the murcianos to to keep on taking part in the Contest, that they assist every day to his representations and that they have a good time with the performances.
