I want to give the welcome to those who visit us, they are already taking part or spectators who come to enjoy the happiness and joviality that is wasted in these days in IV International Music Festival "Barrio del Carmen". This event has obtained the recognition of the Carmelite ones and of all the murcianos, since every day they are more the persons who do not want to lose this meeting so representative of our Holidays.

The Barrio del Carmen is already a reference forced in the ambience that it surrounds to the world of the prickly pears.
The University Tuna of the District of Murcia has distinguished me with the Godmother's appointment, distinction that I consider to be undeserved, since my merits have not been different that those of organizing (inside the holidays commission) along with many other persons these contests.

To be Godmother of the Music Festival fills me, on the one side of satisfaction, since the Tuna of District is the most ancient of our city, and for other of responsibility, since we must not forget that our Quarter was the first head office of the University of Murcia.

I hope that this International Music Festival that is celebrated during the Holidays of this traditional Barrio, should contribute to the prestige and exaggeration of the Barrio del Carmen and, hence, to that of our dear Murcia.
