The University Tunas pears represent one of the elements more typical of the peculiar and exclusive way of life of the university students. In Spain the Tuna enjoy an ancestral tradition, and already, the Archpriest of Hita describes the tunos as: "night-wandering, quarrelsome and boisterous, are those who assault gardens and shops of eatables, which sell bulls, play in the inns, they sing, they dance and toll instruments, constituting a certification it infests for the city”.

This singular university tradition finds his origin in the University of Murcia with the beginning of his activity at the beginning of last century, being his most genuine representative the acquaintance as “Tuna of District” that it receives to villain of the different faculties and University Schools.

The Barrio del Carmen, the first head office of the University of Murcia in 1914, received from his first edition, this Music Festival, remembering his university past. Recently, the University of Murcia, after many years of absence, has returned to the Barrio del Carmen, installing his Museum in the ancient Barracks of Artillery, with what he tries to return to this dear quarter the reception that received almost one century ago.

The Tuna of District has realizing an impressive organization effort on having developed the Music Festival that it assembles annually to the best university groups completing a varied musical offer and of excellent quality. I want to be grateful very sincerely for the honor that they have offered to me on having designated me like “Grand Master” of the Festival in his Edition of the year 2005.

Villain darlings, since he recommends the Book of the Good Tunar: "We say here só to the pen … Go vuesas favors with God, find good wines, have the fortune of hearing the good trovas sounding and the duchies in his bags”.
