Dear friends and friends of the murcianísimo Barrio del Carmen:

This year 1999, the University Tuna of the District of Murcia has wanted to distinguish me with the appointment of Grand Master of his III International Music Festival. Distinction that I consider not to deserve, if my merits to obtain so valued award have been to fulfill, with equity and the possible best thing, the obligations of the charge that I represent.

For this motive, I am grateful sincerely to all the components of the Tuna of District and to the organizers of III International Music Festival "Barrio del Carmen", who have remembered this one humble and ancient tuno to make him a participant, they, of a few unforgettable musical days of happiness and friendship.

I entered the Tuna in February, 1975, not without earlier overcoming his severe examination, and, since then, my affection and fondness towards this mester were increasing with the years; today, I still vibrate singing and accompanying to our regional Tunas in his magnificent recordings from the solitude of my domicile. Those that we are villain, and I say that we are, are and we will keep on answering to the call tunera, to his emotions and sensations, to the night adventures, to our beautiful traditions and, especially, to the cosicas of our ground.

I hope that III International Music Festival "Barrio del Carmen", already consolidated, contributes to the exaggeration of the Holidays of so noble and singular Music Festival, as also to the biggest prestige of our dear city of Murcia.
